This is an exceptional opportunity to see active archaeological fieldwork up close — to meet the team, learn about their latest discoveries, and gain first-hand insight into how the story of this remarkable place is being uncovered.
Thulamela is one of southern Africa's most important Late Iron Age settlements. Perched on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River floodplain, this stone-walled capital formed part of a wider trading network that linked the interior of southern Africa with the east African coast, Arabia, India and beyond.
