Join us at Phabeni Gate, Kruger National Park, for the official opening of the new protective roof erected over the historic Albasini Ruins.
The Albasini Ruins mark the site of the trading settlement established by the Portuguese trader JoĂŁo Albasini in the mid-nineteenth century, and are one of the most important historical sites in the Lowveld. Set along the ancient trade routes that linked the interior with Delagoa Bay, the settlement offers a fascinating insight into the early commercial and cultural exchanges that shaped the region.
The new protective structure, funded and coordinated through the efforts of the SANParks Honorary Rangers, will help preserve this important heritage resource for future generations.
